Christi Ball and Kara Brostrom are from the Estate and Business Law firm of Ball, Loudon, Ebert, & Brostrom, LLC located in Grand Island, Lincoln, and Omaha. Christi and Kara will give you a summary of proper estate planning which includes charitable giving among probate, intestate succession, wills and trusts, powers of attorney, and taxes.

Brandon Sak comes to us from Hallett Philanthropy located in Omaha. Fundraising doesn't come easily to most people – clergy included. Despite regular conversations about fundraising in our religious world, it still feels uncomfortable. Dive into the psychology of philanthropy and why it is more natural than you may think. A focus on obligation vs. impact and the critical role clergy leaders play in the process.

While the mission of any church is centered on a higher authority, the mortal world requires us to acknowledge the reality of, no money, no mission. Understanding the trend of today's philanthropy is required to ensure a strong mission.

To do this we must examine current giving trends and data regarding philanthropy including the reduction in households making charitable gifts, particularly in religion, the importance of having an aspirational vision beyond obligations to meet donors’ expectations, and the power philanthropy has on the health and mentality of those who choose to be charitable.
