"Gifts From The Heart" Endowment Fund

The Nebraska United Methodist Foundation awards a limited number of ministry grants to Nebraska United Methodist churches and affiliated churches and agencies each year. Through these awards of grant dollars, we seek to enhance and expand ministries of your organization. The ultimate goal of these awards is to provide assistance, whether it is a one-time grant or a grant that will help a ministry become self-sustaining. These grants are made only for programs and activities. They are not made for building repair, replacement, salaries, church operations, or expansion.

The grants awarded for ministries come from an anonymous gift to the Foundation’s “Gifts From The Heart” Endowment Fund. Only the income generated from the principal of this gift can be used in the awarding of grants and may not be available every year.

The ministry grant program runs twice a year: January 1st – March 31st and July 1st – September 30th

Please attach materials that include:
a) Narrative with details about the ministry including purpose, plan, and significance of program
b) Mission and/or Vision Statement
c) Timeline and ministry/program budget (including all sources of funding)

Please include details of the use of those funds and how the grant enhanced the outreach of your church/ministry (attach additional pages, if necessary. Photos and stories are appreciated). **The Foundation continues to honor donor intent and values the results of our Ministry Grant program. Lack of communication on the results of prior years’ projects could impact future grant requests.
