Just as the Foundation assists Conference churches and related ministries with the development of endowments and other gifts of support, we also assist individuals in the development of their gift giving. These services have a separate, but overlapping, focus.

Planned Giving
The Foundation assists individuals with their estate and gift planning at no cost and with no obligation on the part of the individual to make a charitable gift. Individuals spend their lives creating income, accumulating assets, and preserving these assets through retirement. The fourth stage, distribution, represents the final decision by the individual as to how they wish to have their lifetime accumulations utilized for the benefit of others.

It is the Foundation's desire to help assure that Nebraska Conference United Methodists are receiving the help they desire in their estate and gift planning.

Estate Planning
Some individuals know exactly how they wish to have their estates distributed and have made those wishes known through a properly drafted Last Will and Testament or other legal document. Others are less sure of exactly what it is they wish to have happen or how to best accomplish their wishes. While we always recommend individuals visit with their attorney, accountant or other planning professional, the Foundation can often help individuals in the early planning stages and in the area of gift planning, so as to provide them with a sense of direction and possibilities prior to them visiting with their advisor.

Family-Funded Endowment Funds
Perhaps there is no greater legacy than what we do during our lives to help improve the quality of life for others. The only way to assure that legacy beyond our lifetime is to create something that benefits others after we are no longer alive to do so ourselves.

Whether funded with lifetime gifts, an estate gift or a combination thereof, a permanent endowment fund can assure that financial support for a favorite institution or ministry will continue forever.

There is never a fee or an obligation on the part of the individual for our services. If you would like more information about planned giving, estate planning, or endowment funds, please contact the Foundation.
